温柔可爱的你可不可以不要变成蛮不讲理的 Auntie?

If fire is green, the grass is burning
The fumes blur the mirage
Of paradise islands far away.
The sea recedes
As the tide of cement rolls in
Who is reclaiming
What from whom?
How do I build my home
Without killing the flames of the greenery?

I know you’re broke. So am I. But at least we’re better off than this chap, right? Have a good weekend.

These ladies are so eager to work. It’s a good thing my maid can’t read this. Otherwise, she’d be shaking.

There was a time when we slipped notes under our neighbours’ doors to send them a private message. Not knowing our neighbour’s phone number, we resorted to this low tech way of private messaging. But nowadays, even though there’s a lot less talking between neighbours, people tend to “shout” their messages to one another so that the whole block would know 1) they are angry and 2) who the “offender” is. Thus, the lift lobby at my block has been turned into a public notice board. It doesn’t matter if we’re not following the complainant on Facebook or Twitter. A handwritten message like this effectively informs everyone who needs to know.
And here is how the disgruntled neighbour complained (rather publicly) to someone staying upstairs. Talk about washing your dirty linen in public. The identity of the complainant is unknown – he/she could be anyone staying below the unit, but the the “offending” unit is clearly identified. It won’t be long before this trend grows and we see more and more complaints against inconsiderate neighbours, replies and retaliation going public on this notice board.

It’s nice to be entertained this way while waiting for the lift after a hard day’s work. The writer of the message should also make sure that the folks staying in that unit can read English. If not, I think I know what language they read and I’m always available for translation – for a small fee.
