I really wish that people would read again. It’s no fun being a YouTuber. YouTube is such an ass. You just have to make allusion to politics and your video’s visibility is automatically dropped. It’s YouTube’s way of moderating “fires” that have been started everywhere, both in the real world and the virtual world. And Facebook is not spared the woes of knee jerk AI censorships. A few sensitive “keywords” are all it takes for some of your perfectly harmless posts to be removed. Outrageously, obvious scams and Chinese propaganda are allowed to be advertised.
These platforms lack manpower and they don’t seem to realise that human intelligence is necessary to get the job done. Some censorships are of course triggered by human complaints from members of the woke or the poster’s haters, but on the whole, the world is turning crazily woke to save time and manpower. The result is that the most popular platforms like TikTok, are promoters of anti intellectualism.
If you’re a SYT, you can dance scantily clad for a few seconds in front of the camera and get thousands of views immediately. You can spend hours planning, shooting and editing a video, correcting mistakes and misconceptions and get just a dozen views. This world is so stupidly unfair. Overdependence and overreliance on AI is just the beginning of the problem. Even people are being stupefied by AI. What do people do to keep the peace on social media? By being crazily woke and eventually, the human moderators may start agreeing with everything that the AI says – something like a parent being controlled by the child.
It has been quite a challenge doing YouTube. I actually started off quite well but the algorithm is terribly unfathomable. When I delete an old video that was badly done and upload an improved version, the latter can get much fewer views. Gosh, I wish my readers could come back to my blog so I don’t have to go on YouTube.
The video embedded below is about the recent spate of goodies and freebies doled out in anticipation of GE2024. Can you believe it, YouTube considers it “political” just because Joe Biden was mentioned. This video actually focuses on budget meals and free transport, 2 areas where the kiasu, kiasi and gian png people of Singapore complain about most. While I’m not sure where the funding for free transport comes from, our hawkers are the ones being squeezed to offer budget meals. Ah, the comedy and tragedy of living in Singapore. Please watch the video, like, share and subscribe so that folks like me can be treated more fairly on social media.
