Education is not only serious business in Singapore. It’s big business and tuition centres have contributed S$1.8 billion to our local economy. Minister Chan Chun Sing has identified some of these tuition centres as “black sheep” for their unethical advertising which targets our parents’ fears. Are these businesses really unethical? Or are they doing things that most businesses or even politicians would do – target people’s anxieties?
