Russia’s Claim On Ukraine

1994 was the year the leaders of Russia, Ukraine, US and UK sat down at Hungary to sign what would be known as the Budapest Memorandum on Security Assurances.Clinton, Yeltsin and John Major publicly pledged that they would respect the independence, sovereignty and existing borders of Ukraine if Ukraine gave up it’s nuclear arsenal which was the 3rd largest in the world at that time. The violation of the agreement began in 2014 when Putin annexed Crimea and Russia has been nibbling on Ukraine till this day. What good are treaties when leaders don’t honour them and people don’t remember them? Russia under Putin, has repeatedly betrayed everyone’s trust. And yet there are so many idiots out there who think that the war can be stopped if Ukraine becomes even more defenceless.
